Because of the widespread allegations against the Chicago Blackhawks winger, Patrick Kane, Electronic Arts (EA) has decided to remove Kane as a cover athlete.
EA released the following statement.
"In light of the ongoing investigation involving Patrick Kane, he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of EA Sports NHL 16."
"He will not appear on the EA Sports NHL 16 cover nor participate in other EA Sports NHL 16 promotional activities."
Kane is currently being investigated for allegedly raping an unknown woman. The removal by EA Sports has been speculated by several publications and fans, and regardless of the outcome of the investigation was the right move by the video game company.
